Easter With Jean

Just stopping in to share with you my morning with Jean. It was a stormy rainy day here in Oklahoma and we had thunder storms all night. It was really a beautifully cool morning with a light rain falling.
I got over there about 10:15..
Jean has moved so close to Heaven that she no long communicates here.. She has no energy to speak and most of the time her eyes are closed.

I took her flowers.

She knew I was there, she opened her eyes for just a moment and smiled when I kissed her cheek. I sobbed and sobbed and could not help myself.

I moved the chair up closer to her bed side and I opened my bible to Matthew and read to her the story of Easter. I read slowly as the sobs would rise in my throat and I need to stop and gain control. After finishing the reading in Matthew I read to her from Isaiah 53:5. It is my favorite book in the bible and one of my favorite scriptures.

But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I then put my cheek right on her cheek and whispered as I prayed. She had little strength but as I prayed she lifted her hand into the air and praised the Father with me. I cried and my tears fell on her face. I whispered to the Father that she was tired and ready to go home. I whispered to the Father that she has a Father and a Mother and a husband waiting.
I sat for a long time just holding both her hands.. She would grip tighter when I started to leave or move.
At one point I sang to her......... Amazing Grace and In The Garden... Now I am not a singer so it was just a joyful noise. She just laid there and did not move.

Then something happened...... I began to pray in my heavenly language. I pray in the natural and I pray in the spirit.. When I began to speak in tongues her eyes opened wide and she looked at me...... Wide eyed. She watched me closely as I prayer........ It was the most amazing thing.. Her spirit was hearing my words and understood the language. Her spirit man understood! Her spirit is alive and well and ready to go to the Father.

........ How precious a time it was.......

I sat quiet for a long time and she slipped in to a sound sleep... I kissed her on the cheek and I knew that I would not see her again this side of heaven.

Precious Sister I am overwhelmed by the love of the LORD between you and Jean and the beautiful and painful journey you have taken with her. Your words shared with us are beautiful and as I read I cried. May our Lord's peace and comfort be with you as He brings Jean from this life into eternal life until you both see each other again in His presence.

Much love and hugs dear sister. Keep fighting the good fight of faith.

Denise,

I am so glad that you could spend this Easter morning with your friend, Jean. I'm glad that you read her the Easter story and that when you spoke in heavenly language that she raised her hand in praise. I've prayed for God to take her Home so she will not have to bear anymore pain and suffering. I've also prayed for her daughter to find salvation and for God's angels to comfort you in your sorrow when Jean passes. You will see her again one day.

Please keep us updated, my friend. You will always see this Easter as a special time.

Love and blessings,
Mary

I know this was a special time for you to share with your friend. It reminded me again of Dear Mama's last days. The Hospice literature says, they are no longer concerned with earthly things but are making the transition. I also sang to Mama and we talked of what heaven would be like. Me talking, she just watching me and agreeing with her eyes. Hospice also says, they may be waiting for loved ones to say goodbye so that they can go. We talked to Daddy about this. Told him that Mama was concerned about him and he needed to tell her goodbye. He said, it was just too hard but finally on the Friday before she died on Sunday, he lay on the hospital bed beside her frail body and talked about meeting her by the river. He told her to go on and he'd be there shortly. He lived 15 months after he said goodbye but each day was a little harder.
What peace and love we have to share with our loved ones who know Christ when it is time to say goodbye.
Blessings, dear one, I love you,
Mama Bear

I didn't know what to say, Denise, until I read Cora's comment. I feel that way, too. It's too precious for me to even use words to describe.

What a touch of Heaven you shared. Our Church lost 2 precious people resently and like your friend they showed what a trip it is to reach the final resting place where they have lived a life time to reach. Thank you for sharing with us.

I'd like to say "I'm sorry" but in all reality....we should rejoice!! she went home Easter day what a time to go, and she gave her last bit of energy to raise her arms up and love him and let him take her by the hand to her home she has built....I've had kind of the same experience this last week end at work with patient that TOUCHED so many of us, I'll post about it, I love the verses you read to her, so beautiful...and the next time you'll kiss her cheek and cry will be when you see her in heaven.I bawled too when I read your post, I cry so easy, but it's the Holy Ghost just being in my heart and soul....I love you
Sweet gentle hugs to you~
Annette
