ROARING RIVER......................
I forgot to show you Roaring River.......... This is a beautiful spot in Missouri . They breed trout here and once every day from March thru November at 7:00 a.m. they blow a fog horn and release a set number of mature trout into the river. Now there are not many people standing around in these pictures because it is 3:00 p.m.. but at 7:00 a.m. they are shoulder to shoulder and they are allowed to catch 4 trout each day. I would like to see that but not sure I want to get up early enough to get there by 7:00 a.m. Dennis and I went through there on our way home to stretch our legs and take a potty break............
Take a look at that gate in the far background..(click on the picture to get a better look) that is where at 7:00 a.m. each day they release those trout......... that would be something to see..........
Ok you tell me! We passed this old building on the back roads through Arkansas....... This was sitting in the front yard with a "For Sale" sign................. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!! what in the world is this.......... You need to tell me................. and for every one that leaves a guess I will put their name in a pot and send you something that I have just learned to make.............. I will show you tomorrow ! So take a look at this and leave your answer!

Denise,
I'm not sure what it is, but it looks like it could be a piece of machinery for moving things. It resembles a tow motor sort of. lol
The photos of the river are awesome! I love the rapids and it looks like a beautiful spot.
Take care and have a great week, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary
On second look, it is a caterpiller tractor. lol This piece of equipment is very unique - a cross between a bulldozer and a tow motor.
Such beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
It is a really old hay baler. You know one of those things you bale hay with. They don't make them like that anymore.
I love the river pics.
Hi Denise ~ looks like an old snowplow...or a gravel scooper (whatever that name is)!!!
The river pictures are awesome..I would love to see it when they release the trout too!
Hugz,
Michele
I was thinking it looked like something to haul things out of the woods...but I am not a farmer so who knows.
I love the picture of the river...and how cool about the releasing of the fish. I do love to fish.
It's an old bulldozer that has the blade in front missing! My grandpa had one like that!!
The Roaring River is such a beautiful spot, I just loved seeing all the pictures. It certainly would be interesting to see all these fishermen lined up early in the morning:-)
Take care my friend!! xoxo
Looks like so much fun! Have you ever been to Canton in Texas? I've only been once and wasn't able to spend much time. Hoping to go back one day. Glad you made time to get away...still no picture of you!!?
OH honey I know what that beaut is! Dh had one of those...sort of. It's an old catterpillar machine for digging and moving dirt. The owner built a roll cage out of whatever he had around to protect himself in case he tipped over or rolled the thing. Yep..looks like it's dug alot of dirt. Have a blessed week hon. Loved your cool pics! Love, Jen
Hello, To me it looks like a home made bull dozer of a small type with a bush mower on the back of it. They must have made it like this so they could mow up and down the hills. The tracks would give trackion for the machine to make it up and down.
Love and Hugs,
Joyce
It's the pope's vehicle from 1930.

PS: Beautiful stream pictures. I'd walk it everyday if I lived nearby. And oh, you should make that 7:00 AM run. I think there's at least 18 things I could write about that one!
I don't know Denise, is it a ditch witch? You know, one of those contraptions for clearing the ditches and putting in trenches. If so, it's a pretty old one, lol! Great post...Mac wants to go trout fishing now...
hugs

Oh Denise, that is quite a beautiful place to be...enjoying the great outdoors and having such a wonderful, peaceful river to be near and a glorious day. Not to mention a very handsome, loving husband by your side!
As for the farm equipment? We're supposed to guess? Oh me oh my...I haven't the foggiest idea. It's in need of a junk yard tho, if you ask me. LOL
Thanks for your visit! You are such a encourager!! I appreciate it!!
The River pictures are so pretty! I think it is some kind of a heavy machine. No clue here!! Hugs, Grams
Is it a 'front end loader' without the 'front end'? (now maybe called a 'front endless loader?' lolololol
We've been there and the water is COLD even in the summer.
Denise...what a puzzle! It looks like a homemade blend of SEVERAL types of equipment...one thing for sure...it is built for traction. AND it's got some homemade touches---the white wire side protector panels? Odd.
The river is spectacular!
Looks like it might have once been a Bulldozer.
Mama Bear
HMmmmmmmm i know it looks familar but for the life of me i do not know! Maybe it is used on a farm for laying out seed? lol I really have no clue.
I sure don't know what that thing is. It does resemble a bulldozer without the blade.
I loved the pics of the river. You know I love to trout fish.
I'm thinking a bull dozer, with a home made cage on it to protect the driver if something fell, or if the driver just happens to roll over, kind of like a roll cage, like Nascar has....I can just imagine me driving something like!! with my coffee in hand of course.
Thats my thought.
God bless
Annette
My husband runs heavy equipment and everytime he sees something like this he says "Look at that old death trap", because there were virtually NO safety features on them way back then. Love your blog and your pictures!!
My first thought was an old hay baler.
The pictures of the river are great! :o)
I think its part tractor, part skid loader,,whatever it is, its a mess. someone sure loved tinkering.
I love your pictures--beautiful scenery. Please include me in your drawing!
Well it's not a Rolls Royce, that I know for sure. :) If I had to guess and being as Arkansas doesn't get snow, I'd say it was has something to do with clearing land somehow.
Lokks like it could be an old bobcat or skidder...m..
Dear Denise,
What beautiful pictures, and how neat that they signal when the trout are released!
I would love to go fishing in a beautiful place like that, that would give me a chance to catch a trout.:)
The object for sale looks like a tractor, either for reaping or maybe sowing. I don't live on a farm so I am not sure, but that is my guess.:)
Have a great day!:)
Sincerely,
Tart
