My Friend Jean

You ladies remember my friend Jean? Well the cancer is back and it is very bad. They will start her on a new experimental treatment of new chemotherapy, but the Dr. said it is very experimental and her cancer has come back with a vengeance. Four years ago this past October the Dr. told her one year and at the very outside 2 years....... God has granted her 4 years and some months. The Dr. only know what they know and they do not know the will of God for her life. She has been so blessed. They have sent her home with pain medication and medicine for her nausea. Just a month ago the pancreas did not show any signs of cancer but ................ She now is very sick. She cannot eat or drink and they are trying to keep her hydrated. She is 24 hour Hospice now. I will go and see her when I can each day. Mom is so much worse and her memory is just about gone, she fell the other day because she forgets to use her walker. Thus I just cannot be gone from here for very long at a time.
Pray for my friend Jean. She gets to see Jesus before I do and she gets to see her sweet Nelson in the near future. Can you imagine looking into the face of God and seeing HIM smile............. I can only imagine.

What will it be like to spend my time just in worship to the one that set me free...

Oh, Denise. I am so sorry to hear that your friend is not doing well. I know this is a sad and difficult time, but you're right. She will know all the secrets, won't she?

What a glorious day it will be.

Denise, dear friend I will lift your friend Jean up in my prayers. I know the ache of losing our friends in this life. I lost a beloved friend 2 years ago to cancer. She was 47. B. is heaven-dancing with the Lord now!( even though she lost both legs to earlier childhood bone cancer) She is dancing again! Your friend awaits her first heaven- dance with the Savior! What a beautiful dance it will be!

I will pray for your mother too...and for you to be consoled and strengthened by the Comforter, He who knows and dries our tears.

I am saying a prayer for your friend Jean, and for you Denise. I can only imagine is one of my most favorite songs. I am also sorry to hear about your mother. It is so hard watching the one you love lose their memory. Someone close to me has also lost his memory to the point he remembers no one any longer.

((((Denise)))) Big time hugs sent your way.

Denise, your friend is very lucky to have you, I'm sorry your going through so much, but God will revile to you one day the purpose of it all! I can only imagine whats is like to see Jesus face to face and have him hold his hand out to me, too feel his skin, look into those eyes, to touch his hair..I wonder all the time what that time may be like, and how marvelous that your friend gets to do it soon, and very soon we're gonna see the king, I LOVE that song, but our God is an AMAZING God, and miracles happen all the time, but do enjoy your time with her, time is too short....I will keep you, your mom, and your friend in prayer & thoughts.
God loves us!!!!!!!

You know, sometimes you personify the strength of the Lord. I realize that's not the best wording of what it is I'm trying to say. However, these comment boxes are so small sometimes.
With all that you are going through, still the love of the Lord shines through you. I have no doubt your mom if very proud of her "little girl". :)

Beautiful, Denise! I love that song.
I'm so sorry to hear that Jean isn't doing well. Just think...it won't be long until she will see Jesus' precious face & all pain and suffering will be gone & she'll have a brand new body.
I'm keeping your mom in my prayers as well. Bless her heart...and bless your heart. It's so hard to see the ones we love huring or in pain.
I pray you have a very blessed Sunday!
Love ya,
Val

Home going for a Christian isn't a sad time, only the leaving of loved ones behind. It was very hard for my Daddy to tell the woman he loved goodbye. After, she had been in Hospice care for about 6 weeks, we knew that was all that was holding her here. The Saturday before she left, he crawled into bed beside her and told her how much he loved her, that he would miss her but would join her soon. "Just wait beside the river", he said. It is sad to think of them gone from our lives. Daddy has been gone 2 years this month.
You're right, only God knows when he is ready to call us home.

I hear your heart.....and I know that it is tired.
I am so glad that you have the comfort of knowing that your friend will be walking with our Savior...but I know it still hurts like the dickens. I will be praying for you and her.
There is a lot on your plate right now...He gives strength to the weary. I love you and I will be praying for you as you walk this road with your Mom.

My heart goes out to you, dear friend. We are in the same position. Dear Aunt May is in pallative care and has been taken off all her regular meds and is being given only morphine injections.

I continue to pray for you and your family and for Jean.

Denise,

I was just wondering how Jean is doing? Aunt May has had no change. She is resting comfortably under heavy sedation and they have moved her to a private room for her journey.

Drop me an email when you have a chance.

Blessings,
Mary

Denise,
This is such a touching post. I will remember you and your friend in prayer. I'm reminded of a couple of old songs that we sometimes sing in church, "What a Day that Will Be" and "Won't it be Wonderful There". I truly enjoyed the song on your post, thanks for sharing that.

Hugs from me to you.
