She Just Snuck In!

He was having a bite to eat with the sinner tax collector (I am sure there are other names for them now) He was being chastised by the Sad-u-See's and the Fair-U-Sees for doing so. In the middle of his dinner and visit there came a"Certain Ruler... and worshiped HIM....... and he cried out, my daughter is dead, come and touch her and she will live.
HE got up and headed to the home of the "Certain Ruler"to raise his daughter from the dead. When outside there was such a crowd, HE could go no where anymore without a crowd.
She was watching from afar. Too many people to get close to HIM or even get near HIM. She crouched down and headed toward HIM anyway.... Passing through the feet of those gathering and moving with HIM. She was tired and dirty and broke and still sick. If I can but touch the end of his robe, I will be healed. The throng growing and moving faster as the anticipation grew as to what HE would do next. She shoved and pushed and stayed low to the ground so she could just get to the bottom of his robe.

She touched it!

HE stopped, now she was fearful as she was unclean according to the Old Testament law. She did not move, she held her breath. HIS eyes searched the faces of the crowd..... Who Touched Me? HIS words rang out above the of the shouts of the people. Silly man said HIS disciples, there are people everywhere, how can we possible know which one touched you.
I felt virtue leave my body was HIS reply.......... Then HIS eyes met hers......

Mark 5:32-5:34
And HE looked round about to see her that done this thing, But the woman being fearful and trembling, knowing what was done in her (she was healed the instant she touched HIS garment) came and fell down before HIM, and told HIM all the truth. And HE said unto her Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole, go in peace and be whole of they plague.

She came quietly in beside HIM and in the midst of all the turmoil, she found her way to HIS garment. HE knew she was there, HE felt virtue leave HIS body.........She was healed because of one thing, her faith.

We do not always need to move and shout with the crowd. Sometimes we can just move in quietly with purpose in our hearts until we touch HIS garment. HE knows we are there....... HE knows......

This is one of my favorite passages in the new testament! Sometimes God's power is manifest the greatest away from the crowds and in the still, solitary moments amidst the quietness. The last two words in your post are the title of my lastest post. It is so true....HE KNOWS!!

Denise,

For some reason I have always loved this story. Possibly because the woman was unclean and she had such faith. She knew she only had to touch the hem of His garment to know that she would be healed. And though frightened after she'd done it, she confessed and was determined to face the consequences. Yet He told her to go in peace and didn't reprimand her because He loved her.

Thank you for reminding us that healing is as alive today as it was the day she touched His robe.

I've been watching the devastation from the storm on the news and am praying for all those who were in its path.

Blessings,
Mary
